









At the 16th National Open Water Swimming Championships held on October 13, the swimming team from Jingpohu Lake Management Committee in Heilongjiang Province, led by Comrade Ding Jianguo from the Marketing Center, achieved first place in the overall team standings with a record of 10 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze medals. This result also set a new best record for the event.
It is reported that the 16th National Open Water Swimming Championship was held in Jinshitan, Dalian, with nearly 400 athletes from 30 teams participating, including representatives from 16 provinces and cities across China, as well as teams from countries such as Russia and Canada. The competition took place in the nearby seawater of Jinshitan. In mid-October, the daytime temperature in Dalian was only around 10 degrees Celsius, making the water conditions challenging for average swimmers. The team from the Jingpohu Lake Management Committee of Heilongjiang Province consisted of experienced winter swimmers who had consistently trained in cold water during winter months for many years, contributing to their outstanding performance in this event.
The 16th National Open Water Swimming Championship was hosted by the Swimming Administration Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Liaoning Provincial Sports Bureau, and the Dalian Municipal People's Government. It was organized by the Dalian Municipal Sports Bureau, the Dalian Jinzhou New Area Administrative Committee, the Dalian Jinshitan Tourism Group, and the Dalian Winter Swimming Association. In addition to the competitive events of 2000 meters for men and women in 6 age groups from 18 to 54 years old and 1000 meters for men and women aged 55 to 60, there was also a 500-meter open water swimming event for leisure participants.
The swimming team from the Jingpohu Lake Management Committee of Heilongjiang Province claimed 10 out of the 14 gold medals set up for the competition, ultimately securing first place in the overall team standings with a record of 10 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze medals, setting the best performance in the history of the event. This team has now won the top position in the championship for two consecutive years.
