





On January 27,the First National Lake Ice Run International Challenge—2019 China JingpohuLake International Ice Run Challenge was successfully held at JingpohuLake National Scenic Area. The event was co-organized by the Mudanjiang Municipal People's Government, Sina.com, and the Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Bureau, with JingpohuLake Management Committee and Sina Heilongjiang as the hosts, and operated by JingpohuLake Tourism Group and Heilongjiang Longji Sports Culture Development Co., Ltd. The competitioncourse was entirely set on the frozen surface of JingpohuLake, arranged in a circular route, featuring two categories: a halfmarathon of 21.0975 kilometers and a 5-kilometer ice and snow fun run. Participants fromall over the countryMore than 1,100 ice-running enthusiasts participated in the competition. After a fierce contest, 23-year-old Qian Wuyun Batu from Inner Mongolia claimed the championship.
This event invited representatives from Australian running groups and renowned marathon runner Sima Yun(John Paul Grima); Hou Zhe, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Society, and Vice President of the China National Academy of Painting; Fu Junkai, a noted playwright from Heilongjiang Province and National First-Class Screenwriter; as well as winter sports luminaries such as Jiao Lin, Director of the Mudanjiang Winter Sports Management Center and Senior Coach; Fu Rui, Deputy Director of the Mudanjiang Winter Sports Management Center, Senior Coach, and National Speed Skating Champion; Wang Wei, Deputy Director of the Mudanjiang Winter Sports Management Center and National Short Track Speed Skating Champion; Wang Liping, Senior Short Track Speed Skating Coach at the Mudanjiang Youth Amateur Sports School; Zhang Liqun, Senior Short Track Speed Skating Coach at the Mudanjiang Youth Amateur Sports School and National Short Track Speed Skating Champion; and Pan Yefu, Senior Short Track Speed Skating Coach at the Mudanjiang Youth Amateur Sports School and National Short Track Speed Skating Champion. Also present at the opening ceremony were Chen Su, Member of the Mudanjiang Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Head of the Propaganda Department; Qi Zhongyan, Vice Mayor of Mudanjiang; Wei Jianglei, Vice President of Sina.com and President of Sina Sports; Chu Xiwen, President of Sina Heilongjiang; and leaders and guests from provincial and municipal sports departments.
As the first-ever International Lake Ice Running Challenge in China, this event was meticulously planned, organized, hosted, promoted, and operated to benchmark against the world-renowned and most challenging races like the Baikal Ice Marathon, aiming to fully establishthe "JingpohuLake Ice Run" brand and support the development of winter sports at both the national and Heilongjiang provincial levels. During the competition, a variety of events and performances were held on the ice, including the Ice Dragon Boat Challenge and Ice Car Drifting Competition. Participants were also treated to regional delicacies such as wild lake fish soup, fish dumplings, boiled corn, rice cakes, and candied haws, allowing every athlete and visitor at JingpohuLake to experience the joys of its ice and snow culture. This initiative seeks to create a premium event that drives the growth of the ice and snow cultural industry.
