Mirror Lake Anti-Japanese Allied Forces Relics Red Culture Seminar Held at Mirror Lake

At 9:00 AM on July 10, 2019, the Red Culture Symposium on the Anti-Japanese United Army Relics at JingpohuLake was held at the lake. Eighty-eight scholars and experts from 37 universities and research institutions across the country engaged in a day-long discussion on the red cultural heritage of the Anti-Japanese United Army at JingpohuLake. The symposium was chaired by Professor Li Hongguang, Deputy Director of the China Anti-Japanese United Army Research Center. Sun Dezhi, Deputy Party Secretary and Director of the JingpohuLake Management Committee, delivered the welcome speech. Experts including Ye An, Director of the Bayi Spirit Research Center at Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University; Ren Xueling from the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences at Yan'an University; and Li Xiaowu, Party Branch Secretary of the School of Marxism at Pingdingshan University, summarized the experiences of developing and preserving red heritage sites in Jiangxi, Yan'an, and the Central Plains regions, respectively. They also offered insights and suggestions for the development of red tourism at JingpohuLake based on local conditions.

JingpohuLake was a crucial battlefield for the military and civilians of Northeast China in their resistance against Japanese invaders, with traces of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army found all around the lake. The chain battles of JingpohuLake (Lianhuapao) were fought here, involving renowned anti-Japanese commanders such as the leader of the First Route Third Front Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army."JingpohuHero" Chen Hanzhang also sacrificed his life by the shores of JingpohuLake. Additionally, historical sites of intense battles include the JingpohuLake hydroelectric power station once attacked by the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army and the Takao logging operation run by Japanese merchant Saito at Beihutou. The JingpohuLake scenic area boasts abundant and highly representative red cultural resources, reflecting the arduous struggle of the people in the Jidong Anti-Japanese Base Area. Deepening the exploration, development, preservation, and utilization of the red cultural resources within and around the JingpohuLake tourism area, while leveraging both its natural landscapes—lush mountains, clear waters, and snowy vistas—and its red cultural heritage, not only aligns with Mudanjiang City's initiative to build a "Northern Chinese City of Red Culture" but also promotes the development of tourism at JingpohuLake.

This symposium provided theoretical support for the study of the red cultural heritage of the Anti-Japanese United Army at JingpohuLake. By promoting the Anti-Japanese United Army culture of JingpohuLake and delving deeper into its red cultural significance, the event aimed to integrate red tourism with sightseeing, cultural tourism, leisure vacations, and other tourism products. This approach seeks to create diverse, theme-based composite tourism products and routes centered on red tourism, thereby enhancing the appeal and competitiveness of the JingpohuLake scenic area and elevating its development to new heights.
