Announcement of the Funeral Committee for Comrade Jiang Zemin

To express the profound respect and deep mourning of the entire Party, the military, and people of all ethnic groups across the nation for Comrade Jiang Zemin, it has been decided as follows:

(1) From the date of the issuance of the announcement to the entire Party, the military, and people of all ethnic groups across the nation until the day of Comrade Jiang Zemin's memorial service, flags will be flown at half-mast at Tiananmen Square, Xinhua Gate, the Great Hall of the People, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing, the Liaison Offices of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong and Macao, and Chinese embassies and consulates abroad as a mark of mourning. During this period, memorial halls will be set up at the Liaison Offices of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong and Macao and at Chinese embassies and consulates abroad to receive condolences from Hong Kong, Macao, and the countries where they are stationed.

(ii) In accordance with China's customary practice, foreign governments, political parties, and friendly individuals are not invited to send delegations or representatives to China to participate in memorial activities.
