On April 20, the 2025 Jingpohu Lake Opening Season launch ceremony, themed "Savor Fresh Lake Fish, Embrace Jingpohu's Spring," was held at the Jingpohu Lake Villa Wharf Square, marking the beginning of Jingpohu's spring and summer tourism season.
On the rippling lake surface, the spectacular scene of fishermen catching the "first fish of the season" draws tourists to stop and watch. At the Jingpohu Lake Villa Wharf Square, lively performances showcase the vitality of spring in the northern region through vibrant songs and dances, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the unique charm of fishing and hunting culture.
"Enjoy the freshly caught lake fish!" The just-harvested fish from the lake are highly popular among citizens, who compete to purchase them. "Our Jingpohu Lake organic fish benefit from the lake’s unique geographical advantages and a pristine, eco-friendly environment. Over 60 species of fish thrive here, with the 'Three Flowers and Five Luos' being the most premium. Additionally, the lake abounds with crucian carp, carp, redtail, Huanggu fish, snakehead, silver carp, redflower fish, whitefish, catfish, bighead carp, and cucumber-scented fish, among others. Jingpohu Lake organic fish have firm, elastic flesh with a delicious, tender texture—rich yet not greasy, chewy, and highly nutritious, comparable to deep-sea fish," explained Lu Zhigang, head of the Jingpohu Lake Tourism Group’s aquaculture farm. The fish feed solely on plankton and algae in the water without artificial feed, which is why they lack any fishy odor.
"This fish soup is so delicious!" In front of the carefully cooked savory fish soup pot, citizens and tourists spontaneously formed a long queue, satisfying their taste buds.
During the event, visitors can take a cruise along the Hundred-Mile Long Lake, admiring the lush green mountains and blooming pink cherry blossoms on both shores. They can also visit the ancient Yaoshi Temple to ring the bell for blessings, experiencing the blend of nature and culture. It is reported that the Volcanic Crater National Forest Park opened simultaneously.
