Shaoqi Wooden House is located near the Mountain Resort Pier, within the villa complex of the Harbin Institute of Technology Sanatorium. It was the villa where Liu Shaoqi, the former Chairman of the People's Republic of China, and his wife Wang Guangmei stayed during their inspection of Jingpohu Lake in 1961. To commemorate the great achievements of the national leader and honor Comrade Liu Shaoqi's visit to Jingpohu, the Harbin Institute of Technology Sanatorium erected a stone tablet in front of the villa bearing the inscription: "Comrade Liu Shaoqi once resided here."
