





On December 28, the "Heilongjiang Province First Ice and Snow Super League (2025-2026) 4th Jingpohu Lake Winter Swimming Challenge," hosted by the Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Bureau and Mudanjiang Municipal People's Government, organized by the Heilongjiang Jingpohu Lake Management Committee and Mudanjiang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports, Radio, Television, and Tourism, and co-organized by the Ning'an Municipal People's Government, successfully concluded at the Black Dragon Pool in the Jingpohu Lake Scenic Area. As a flagship event responding to the provincial government's call to "develop the ice and snow economy and promote national fitness," this activity attracted over 300 winter swimming enthusiasts from 21 teams across the country and Russia. With a spirited attitude of "challenging the cold and embracing health," the event showcased the unique charm and boundless vitality of winter sports in Heilongjiang.

This year's winter swimming challenge features three categories for both men and women: youth group (18-44 years old), middle-aged group (45-54 years old), and senior group (55 years and above). Each category includes 50-meter freestyle and 50-meter breaststroke events. On the competition day, the air temperature at Jingpohu Lake dropped to -20°C, while the water temperature in Heilong Pool remained around 8°C. The freezing conditions did not dampen the participants' enthusiasm as they fearlessly plunged into the icy waters, cutting through the crystal-clear lanes. After several rounds of intense competition, champions, runners-up, and third-place winners were determined for each category and event.

Jingpohu Lake boasts core advantages in integrating culture, sports, and tourism through its scenic landscapes, geological features, and unique climate. Since 2013, it has hosted over 30 national and provincial-level sports events, attracting more than 30,000 athletes to compete in the scenic area. Among these, the Winter Swimming Challenge and the annual Ice Run Challenge held every January have become the most distinctive and representative branded events at Jingpohu. In October 2025, the Jingpohu Lake scenic area successfully made it onto the list of China's top sports tourism projects for 2025, becoming the only scenic spot in Heilongjiang Province to receive this honor.
The competition has concluded, but the passion remains—the fervor for ice and snow continues to rise.
With the successful conclusion of the finals across various categories, the 4th Jingpohu Lake Winter Swimming Challenge has officially come to a close. This year's event not only provided a platform for winter swimming enthusiasts from around the world to exchange and showcase their skills but also, through media coverage and video dissemination, allowed more people to experience the vibrant energy and passion for winter sports in Heilongjiang.
