Diaoshuilou Waterfall, one of China's three major waterfalls and the world's largest basalt lava-collapse-type waterfall, is located 3 kilometers north of Jingpohu's North Lake Villa. It stands as the most renowned natural attraction within the Jingpohu Lake scenic area. During normal water levels, the waterfall spans 50-60 meters in width with a drop of 12 meters. However, in flood season, it transforms into a breathtaking spectacle, encircled by water on three sides, cascading in multiple streams of varying heights, reaching a maximum width of over 300 meters. The lake water plunges into Black Dragon Pool from the southern, western, and northern directions with overwhelming force, resembling a snowstorm of floating clouds, spraying mist that moistens faces even a hundred meters away. Like a silver galaxy pouring down or a rainbow suspended mid-air, it roars and surges with majestic grandeur. Especially after rain, under clear skies and bright sunshine, vibrant rainbows frequently appear, adding a stunning highlight to the already magnificent waterfall. A poem praises it as "a thousand piles of snow flying down, echoing like thunder across the autumn miles."
In winter, Diaoshuilou Waterfall unveils another rare and pure spectacle—the frozen waterfall. The roaring cascade gradually freezes in motion, forming a crystal-clear ice curtain that hangs from the cliffs, shimmering under the winter sun. Surrounding the waterfall, frost-covered trees and jade-like branches create a scene of rime, while the ever-flowing Black Dragon Pool murmurs beneath ethereal mists, resembling a dreamy "Frozen" wonderland.
