To further integrate fisheries scientific research with cultural and tourism industries, effectively advance the ecological protection of Jingpohu waters and the scientific utilization of aquatic resources, and drive the upgrading of cultural and tourism businesses in the scenic area, a five-member delegation led by Zheng Xianhu, Director of Heilongjiang Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, conducted an inspection tour of Jingpohu Scenic Area on May 8.

The inspection team carried out on-site checks on the development of featured cultural and tourism projects, the management and protection of aquatic resources in the lake area, as well as the planning and construction of scientific research platforms. The two sides held in-depth on-site discussions and reached a number of consensus on cooperation.

The delegation visited the Jingpo Lake History and Culture Exhibition Hall, the Cloud Museum at the Tourist Service Center and other venues, gaining a detailed understanding of the scenic area’s cultural and tourism industry planning, exploration and utilization of characteristic resources, as well as the integrated development of red culture education and popular science research and study tours. They focused on discussing the feasibility and development prospects of launching fish popular science exhibition projects and constructing the freshwater fish culture museum in Jingpo Lake.

This inspection has built a win-win cooperation bridge between the provincial-level fishery research institution and the Jingpo Lake Administration Committee. It not only gathers professional technical support for ecological protection and sustainable utilization of aquatic resources in Jingpo Lake, but also opens up new development paths for the scenic area to cultivate distinctive cultural and tourism industries.

In the next step, the Jingpo Lake Administration Committee will further strengthen communication and coordination with Heilongjiang Fisheries Research Institute, steadily carry out preliminary preparations for the fish specimen museum and planning of scientific research and monitoring stations for native fish species in Jingpo Lake, and actively transform ecological scientific research resources into development advantages for the cultural and tourism industry.
