Affected by extreme heavy rainfall and floods, the infrastructure of Jingpohu Global Geopark has sustained severe damage. Responding promptly to the disaster, the Jingpohu Administrative Committee mobilized forces and took immediate action to fully advance post-disaster recovery and reconstruction, striving to restore normal operational order of the scenic area at the earliest possible date.

Removing silt and debris to restore the scenic environment. Immediately after the disaster, the Landscape and Sanitation Center organized personnel to conduct a comprehensive clean-up of weeds, silt, asphalt, sand, gravel and other debris across the scenic area. The team carried out soil turning and impurity removal, and cleared garbage on terraces. Public facilities including trash cans and benches in flooded areas were properly relocated and rearranged to restore a clean and orderly scenic environment. Meanwhile, staff cleaned floor mats and walls of the Liu Shaoqi Memorial Hall, sanitized public restrooms, and installed doors and windows for the memorial hall and restrooms to ensure all service facilities function properly.

Repairing facilities to restore infrastructure functions. Professional teams were arranged to urgently repair and reinforce flood-damaged landscape facilities such as wooden walkways and waterside pavilions. Flood-fallen street lamps were restored, circuit lines were cleaned, and damaged cables were reconnected to revive the scenic area’s lighting system. Damaged landscapes were renovated, and wooden pavilions displaced by floodwaters were put back in place, effectively safeguarding tourists’ travel safety.

Upgrading quality to enhance scenic area lighting. While pressing ahead with reconstruction and recovery, the Landscape and Sanitation Center simultaneously promoted quality improvement projects. New lighting landscapes were added inside the north gate, and ten projection devices were installed along the poplar tree avenue. In addition, the air inlet of the membrane structure venue was heightened and renovated, further improving the scenic area’s disaster prevention capacity and tourist experience.

To date, the Jingpohu Landscape and Sanitation Center has completed a total of 11 post-disaster recovery and reconstruction tasks covering environmental remediation, facility repair, functional restoration and quality upgrading. All staff have remained on the front line for continuous work, advancing the comprehensive recovery and reconstruction of the scenic area with solid efforts and laying a solid foundation for the safe and orderly reopening of Jingpohu Global Geopark.
