From August 6th to 8th, UNESCO evaluation experts Goran Radonic and Alessandra Casini visited JingpohuLake UNESCO Global Geopark. They conducted on-site inspections of the three core areas: JingpohuLake, the volcanic crater, and the Bohai Kingdom. Through methods such as listening to reports, reviewing materials, engaging with local communities and tourists, holding discussions with representatives from various industries, and conducting field investigations and feedback exchanges, they comprehensively assessed the park's management structure, geological heritage protection, contributions to the global network, scientific research and popularization activities, as well as environmental and infrastructure development. During the inspection, the expert team showed great interest in the park’s scientific research and popularization efforts, its rare and unique geological heritage, as well as its cultural and historical significance. They highly commended the park's work in infrastructure construction, geological heritage protection, socio-economic development, and geoscience popularization. At the evaluation feedback meeting, the experts encouraged JingpohuLake UNESCO Global Geopark to continue promoting its best practices and experiences, continuously improving its working methods, and playing a significant role in international cooperation within the global geopark network. Following this evaluation, the expert team will prepare a re-evaluation report to be submitted to UNESCO, with the results expected to be announced in September. In the future, JingpohuLake will continue to adhere to UNESCO's regulations and standards for global geoparks, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with other geoparks both domestically and internationally, and elevate the JingpohuLake UNESCO Global Geopark brand to new heights.
