On May 29, following the unified arrangement of the municipal government, the city-wide Water Traffic Safety Inspection and Supervision Leading Group, composed of relevant departments including the Municipal Safety Committee Office, Maritime Safety Administration, Emergency Management Bureau, Transportation Bureau, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, and Culture and Tourism Bureau, conducted a comprehensive inspection and supervision of water traffic safety throughout the JingpohuLake scenic area. Participating in the inspection were the scenic area's law enforcement, maritime affairs, shipping, waterway, and boat terminal management departments, as well as related enterprises such as the tourism group and sightseeing boat companies. The inspection team conducted both document reviews and on-site random checks on various aspects, including the implementation of primary responsibility for water traffic safety by water transport enterprises (ship owners), whether potential hazard investigations had been carried out, the completeness of ferry terminal setup and approval procedures, the establishment of a four-level ferry transport safety management responsibility system, the formulation of emergency rescue plans, the presence of illegal transport activities, and the readiness of ship hardware conditions before departure. The team also exchanged feedback with the inspected units.
