On September 10, the Jingpohu Lake Management Committee convened a work meeting on the lake chief system for Jingpohu. The meeting conveyed the spirit of the speeches made by Secretary Yang Tingshuang and Mayor Zhang Guojun at the 2021 municipal video conference on the chief river and lake system, as well as the "Notice on Adjusting the Leading Organization of the River and Lake Chief System Work for Jingpohu," and advanced the implementation of various tasks related to the Jingpohu Lake chief system for 2021. Over 30 attendees, including the respective lake chiefs responsible for different sections, river and lake police chiefs, members of the Jingpohu Lake Management Committee, grassroots units, and representatives from the Jingpohu Lake Tourism Group, participated in the meeting. Li Dongjun, Deputy Party Secretary and Director of the Working Committee, chaired the meeting and delivered an important speech.
In his speech, Comrade Li Dongjun emphasized three key points: First, it is essential to elevate one's stance and deeply understand the significance of the Jingpohu Lake chief system. The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China placed ecological civilization at an unprecedented level of importance. The Jingpohu Lake chief system serves as both a focal point and a starting point for our efforts in building ecological civilization, as well as the most powerful tool for carrying out work under the current system, and the primary direction for our future endeavors. Second, responsibilities must be fulfilled to further enhance the effectiveness of the lake chief system, raising awareness of accountability and fostering collaborative efforts. Third, solid work is required to improve the outcomes of pollution control at Jingpohu, with a problem-oriented approach, strengthened departmental responsibilities, implementation of section-specific tasks, and enhanced joint governance. It is crucial to fully implement the decisions and arrangements of the provincial and municipal party committees and governments, further elevate ideological understanding, strengthen work measures, and, based on a new starting point, achieve new goals to advance the protection and management of Jingpohu Lake with renewed effectiveness.
