With tourism driving the economy, sports stimulating activity, and culture nurturing the soul, the event aims to accelerate the integrated development of sports, culture, and tourism in Heilongjiang Province, promote the innovative growth of sports in Mudanjiang, and advance the "culture-tourism-sports" industry at Jingpohu. It also seeks to enrich and enliven the cultural life of the province's residents, enhance their physical fitness, and foster a vibrant atmosphere for sports tourism development. Organized by the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province and hosted by the Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Bureau and the Mudanjiang Municipal People's Government, with co-organization by the Heilongjiang Provincial Social Sports Guidance and Chess & Card Sports Management Center, the Jingpohu Lake Management Committee of Heilongjiang Province, and the Mudanjiang Municipal Sports Bureau, the grand opening of the "4th Heilongjiang Provincial Mass Fitness Games and the 1st Jingpohu Lake Mass Fitness Sports Festival" will take place on August 26 by the picturesque shores of Jingpohu!
The "Heilongjiang Province 4th Mass Fitness Games & the First Jingpohu Lake Mass Fitness Sports Festival" series of events will run from August 26 to September 25, lasting one month. Over 800 athletes from 13 cities across the province will compete in the Mass Fitness Games' "provincial-level basketball, Chinese chess, Go, chess, air volleyball, and gateball tournaments" from August 26 to 27. From September 10 to 25, events such as the 2023 China Roller Skating Marathon Open (Jingpohu Lake Station) and the 2023 China Motorboat League Jingpohu Lake Grand Prix will be held successively.

Jingpohu, with its picturesque scenery, boasts unparalleled natural resources and a rich historical culture. Its unique geographical location and latitude create a summer "cool" and winter "icy" ecological environment, providing ideal climatic conditions for outdoor fitness activities and various sports events. In recent years, Jingpohu Lake has hosted numerous large-scale sports events, including the National Youth Winter Sunshine Sports Games, Jingpohu Lake International Marathon, China Jingpohu Lake International Ice Run Challenge, and Jingpohu Lake Road Cycling. In December 2022, it was approved by the General Administration of Sport of China and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as a "National Sports Tourism Demonstration Base," becoming the only site in Heilongjiang Province and one of fourteen nationwide to receive this designation. On June 30 this year, the 2023 China Jingpohu Lake Half Marathon concluded successfully at the scenic area.
The upcoming National Fitness Games on August 26 will once again serve as a grand sports event promoting the integrated development of "culture, tourism, and sports" at Jingpohu. Additionally, the month-long Jingpohu Lake First National Fitness Sports Festival will offer the public a variety of exciting activities and an enhanced fitness experience.
