By the shores of Jingpohu Lake in early autumn, the scenery is lush and vibrant. At 9:30 AM on September 10th, the highly anticipated 2023 China Inline Skating Marathon Open (Jingpohu Lake Station) and the Jingpohu Lake Inline Skating Festival kicked off at the Jingpohu Lake National Scenic Area. With the sound of the starting gun, nearly a thousand professional inline skaters and enthusiasts from across the country, gliding on their "wheels of fire," shot off the starting line like arrows. They raced across the 100-mile ecological landscape track of the Jingpohu Lake scenic area on volcanic rock plateaus, sweating it out while experiencing the lake's stunning beauty in a unique way.

Deputy Director of the Social Sports Guidance Center under the General Administration of Sport Li Haigang, Vice Director of the Provincial Sports Bureau Guo Yutian, and Vice Mayor of Mudanjiang City Gao Zhongyuan attended the opening ceremony.

Gao Zhongyuan stated in his speech that Jingpohu Lake is a pearl embedded in the emerald screen of China's northern frontier, boasting abundant natural resources and profound cultural heritage. It is a comprehensive tourist destination that integrates nature, history, culture, and folk traditions. He expressed hope that this event would become a sports spectacle showcasing both sportsmanship and competitive excellence, as well as an open stage for roller-skating enthusiasts nationwide to gather "on wheels," explore Mudanjiang—a city that blends northern and southern charms—and experience the breathtaking beauty of Jingpohu. Additionally, he anticipated that the event would further promote the popularization of roller-skating, enhance exchanges and cooperation among enthusiasts, and vigorously advance the integrated development of cultural, tourism, and sports industries.

The event was guided by the Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Bureau, co-organized by the Chinese Roller Skating Association and the Mudanjiang Municipal People's Government, and hosted by the Provincial Jingpohu Lake Management Committee and the Municipal Sports Bureau. It served as one of the three stops of the 2023 National Roller Skating Marathon Open. The competition featured men's and women's races in full marathon (42 km), half marathon (21 km), and mini marathon (5 km). Participants were divided into veteran, adult, youth, and junior categories. In the end, Ji Xueliang from the Heihe Sports Bureau Team of the Famous Skaters Federation clinched the title in the adult men's half marathon with a time of 30 minutes, 09 seconds, and 012 milliseconds. Meanwhile, Qiao Meiling from the Daqing Xiaoqiao Roller Skating and Ice Skating Club Team won the adult women's half marathon with a time of 33 minutes, 07 seconds, and 941 milliseconds.
