The 5th China Volcanic Geopark Conference was held in Zhouning County, Ningde City, Fujian Province, with the theme of "Volcanic Rock Landscapes and Sustainable Regional Economic Development," aiming to promote the protection and development of volcanic geoheritage in Ningde and nationwide, as well as to advance the cultural industry development of geoparks.

During the meeting, seven experts and scholars from organizations including the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council, Geoscience Australia, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), and the National Geopark Network Center shared their latest research findings and practical experiences in relevant fields. Additionally, seven global geoparks such as Ningde, Yandangshan, and Hexigten exchanged insights on their development progress.

In recent years, Fujian has placed high importance on the conservation, development, and management of global geoparks and other protected natural areas. As the second park in the province to be included in UNESCO's Global Geoparks Network, Ningde Global Geopark has achieved remarkable results in advancing park construction and sustainable development. Fujian will thoroughly implement the "Three Reservoirs + Carbon Reservoir" green ecological concept, striving to develop its global geoparks and protected natural areas into key hubs for biodiversity conservation, premier destinations for youth to experience nature, and exemplary zones for harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.

The China Volcanic Geopark Conference was initiated by the China Volcanic Geopark Alliance. The alliance has been striving to highlight the value of volcanic geoheritage, promote resource and environmental protection, foster product innovation, joint marketing, management interaction, scientific research, and international exchanges, effectively driving the inclusive and sustainable development of China's volcanic geoparks. During the conference, the Changbai Mountain UNESCO Global Geopark and the Longyan UNESCO Global Geopark joined the China Volcanic Geopark Alliance, bringing its total membership to 10. The next China Volcanic Geopark Conference will be hosted by the Jingpohu Lake UNESCO Global Geopark.
