Meeting details:

On the evening of December 16, the award ceremony of the first Global Geoparks Network Film Festival was grandly held at Jeju Island Global Geopark in South Korea. The microfilm "One Land, One Story" submitted by Longyan City, Fujian Province, stood out among 62 shortlisted entries from 27 countries worldwide, winning second place. It was the only award-winning work among the 17 entries from China.

The microfilm "Homeland" tells the story of growth and legacy between a father and daughter from two generations of forestry workers. Through simple yet genuine scenes, it celebrates the warm family bonds and hometown sentiments of the Hakka people, while showcasing the geological, cultural, and ecological features of Longyan Geopark, its achievements in sustainable development, and the vision of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.

The film received unanimous praise from the jury panel of the film festival: "A wonderful narrative complemented by pleasant sound and visual effects. The plot is well-designed, profoundly showcasing the love for nature shared by two generations of father and daughter."

This film festival is the first of its kind, aiming to promote global UNESCO Global Geoparks (including aspiring UNESCO Global Geoparks) in showcasing their unique natural landscapes and cultural heritage through the narrative approach of short films.
