The inscription by General Ye is located in the western part of Xinghua Village, carved into the Xinghua Mountain. It was formed by a natural rock outcrop enhanced with artificial construction, standing approximately 20 meters tall. The southeast side of the outcrop features a steep cliff, while the northwest side is densely forested. The top of the outcrop is adorned with towering pine trees, and the lush greenery obscures the sheer, perilous cliffs. At the southern base of the outcrop lies the main thoroughfare leading to jingpo Mountain Villa and the Diaoshuilou Waterfall.
The inscription by Marshal Ye was penned in 1964 when Marshal Ye Jianying visited jingpo Lake and was inspired to write. In 1982, the renowned calligrapher Mr. Zhao Jiaxi came to the lake and respectfully transcribed Marshal Ye’s inscription: "A lake on the mountain, a mountain on the lake—the northern scenery surpasses that of the south." In 1985, the jingpo Lake Management Bureau had it carved in white characters on the eastern face of the rocky cliff, where the bold letters stand out vividly. On the southern face of the cliff is the inscription "jingpo Villa," written in 1983 by Comrade Chen Lei, then Governor of Heilongjiang Province, based on the name "jingpo Villa" given by Comrade Ouyang Qin, former First Secretary of the Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee. The red characters on a white background are strikingly eye-catching. Both works exhibit vigorous brushstrokes, elegant poise, rich ink tones, and poetic charm. Visitors invariably stop here to take photos as mementos. A poem reads: "Green cliffs rise abruptly by the lake, Marshal Ye’s verses embedded on the wall. Verdant pines and blooming flowers add allure—capturing the scene surpasses seeking immortality."
