Recently, the comprehensive acceptance of the sewage discharge rectification for boats in Jingpohu Lake has been completed, with significant results achieved in the special campaign. Led by the Boat Sewage Discharge Rectification Team and coordinated with multiple departments, this initiative implemented provincial and municipal ecological protection plans, achieving "full inspection, full rectification, and full supervision" of sewage discharge from large boats in the water area.
Starting from June 27, 2022, the task force focused on large commercial and private boats, completing a thorough inspection within five days. They issued 55 rectification notices, signed commitments to suspend operations, and guided owners to conduct self-inspections and corrections. On July 2, a joint acceptance process was initiated, with departments such as the Maritime Safety Administration and classification societies conducting boat-by-boat verifications. A total of 95 boats were inspected, with 78 meeting the standards and 17 failing. For non-compliant boats, the task force implemented categorized controls: 12 outdated boats with no renovation value were placed under centralized anchorage supervision, 4 boats were equipped with monitoring probes, and 1 private boat was fitted with satellite positioning to ensure "zero discharge and no rebound."
In the next step, the Jingpohu Lake Management Committee will establish a long-term supervision mechanism, conduct regular inspections and spot checks, and consolidate the rectification results to protect the ecological environment of Jingpohu Lake waters.
