





Great News! Jingpo Global Geopark Establishes Sister Relationships with Multiple Global Geoparks
Recently, the Jingpo Global Geopark has achieved fruitful results in external exchanges and cooperation, successively establishes sister relationships with the Zhijin Cave Global Geopark and the Zhijin Cave Global Geopark in Guizhou Province, as well as the Zhaoqing Xinghu Scenic Area in Guangdong Province, establishing cross-regional collaboration and exchange bridges.
Recently, Jingpo Global Geopark has achieved fruitful results in external exchanges and cooperation. It has successively signed sister agreements with Zhijin Cave Global Geopark and Xingyi Global Geopark in Guizhou Province, as well as Zhaoqing Star Lake Scenic Area in Guangdong Province, building cross-regional collaboration and communication bridges.

From December 11 to 13, Comrade Li Dongjun, Deputy Party Secretary of the Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Jingpohuhu Scenic Area Nature Reserve, led a research team to Guizhou Province for investigation and exchange. The team members included Li Xijun, Deputy Director of the Jingpohuhu Management Committee; Ding Jianguo, Director of the Jingpohuhu Tourist Service Center; and Yu Hao, Director of the Jingpohuhu Entrance Area Service Center.
On December 11, the research team arrived in Guiyang City to conduct preliminary investigations. The following day, they proceeded to Zhijin County in Bijie City, focusing their inspection on the Zhijin Cave Global Geopark. Accompanied by local staff, the team first visited the Zhijin Cave Global Geopark Museum, where they systematically learned about its geological evolution, karst landform features, and scientific value. Subsequently, they conducted on-site inspections of the geopark's core scenic area, gaining a deeper understanding of its vast cave system, diverse karst sediment formations, scientific conservation management measures, and operational model. Upon concluding the visit, the Jingpo Global Geopark successfully signed a sister park agreement with the Zhijin Cave Global Geopark Administration.
On the 13th, the inspection team proceeded to Qianxinan Prefecture, visiting the Xingyi Asia Dragon World Geopark Museum, where they gained a comprehensive understanding of the park's geological heritage and natural-cultural resource system. Subsequently, they conducted on-site investigations at the Wanfenglin Scenic Area, renowned for its spectacular cone-shaped karst peak forests, and the Maling River Gorge, famous for its deep fissures and waterfall clusters. They examined in detail the experiences and practices of these sites in ecological conservation, science education, community engagement, and sustainable tourism development. Following thorough discussions and exchanges, the Jingpo Global Geopark and Xingyi Global Geopark officially established a sister park partnership.
On the 14th, the research team traveled south to Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, to attend the 2025 China Scenic Area Association River and Lake Professional Committee work conference held on the 15th. During the meeting, Director Li Dongjun, representing Jingpo Scenic Area, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Zhaoqing Xinghu Scenic Area Management Bureau, laying a solid foundation for in-depth collaboration between the two parties.
On the afternoon of the 15th, the inspection team participated in the large-scale multimedia interview series "Beautiful China: A Collective Dialogue" (Rivers and Lakes Edition), organized by the China Scenic Areas Association. During the interview, Director Li Dongjun shared the successful experiences of Jingpohu Lake in water ecological environment management. He detailed a series of measures, including implementing zoning controls, promoting pollution control at the source, and systematically carrying out ecological restoration, which have steadily improved the lake's water quality from Class IV to Class III and significantly enhanced aquatic biodiversity. He also mentioned that Jingpo Scenic Area has been successfully selected as one of the first "Beautiful Rivers and Lakes" cases in Heilongjiang Province, with its governance experience gaining widespread attention and recognition within the industry.
On the 16th, the inspection team conducted a full-day field survey of Zhaoqing Xinghu Scenic Area, visiting Dinghu Mountain, renowned for its forest ecology and Buddhist culture, as well as the Qixingyan Scenic Area, famous for its picturesque lakes and rock formations. They comprehensively studied Xinghu's advanced practices in landscape protection, cultural heritage preservation, tourism integration, and smart scenic area development. Following the inspection, Jingpohuhu Scenic Area and Zhaoqing Xinghu Scenic Area Administration held an official signing ceremony, formally announcing the establishment of a "sister lake" partnership. Both parties pledged to deepen cooperation in various fields, including resource protection, management experience exchange, market interaction, personnel training, and joint brand building.
This series of inspections and signing activities marks a solid step forward for the Jingpo Global Geopark in external exchanges and cooperation. By forming friendly sister relationships, Jingpo Global Geopark will collaborate with renowned scenic areas to explore high-quality development paths for natural protected areas, promote resource sharing and complementarity, and inject new vitality into improving management standards and advancing the coordinated development of ecological civilization and cultural tourism industries.
