On the morning of April 23, 2026, the "Jingpo Lake Management Committee Guide Competition Finals" was successfully held under the joint organization of the Political Department and the Labor Union of the Jingpo Lake Management Committee. The event closely aligned with the high-quality development positioning of study tourism in the scenic area, using competition to promote training and excellence, comprehensively honing the professional skills of the guide team, and solidifying the educational foundation of three key study tourism themes: revolutionary history, volcanic geology, and natural ecological conservation.

A total of 42 young officials registered for the competition, with 12 contestants successfully advancing to the finals. During the finals, participants delivered immersive presentations on research topics such as the scenic area's geological wonders, cultural heritage, and biodiversity. Their explanations were logical, vivid, and accessible, fully showcasing the high-spirited demeanor and strong comprehensive qualities of young officials in the new era.

The Management Committee of Jingpo Lake has always placed great emphasis on cultivating young cadres, consistently improving their research and interpretation skills as a key driver for their professional growth. Regular specialized training sessions on research interpretation and science popularization volunteering have been conducted. Through initiatives such as senior cadres leading lectures, mentorship between experienced and younger staff, and hands-on field exercises, a series of research courses have been developed, covering topics like volcanic geology, ecological science, intangible cultural heritage, the history of the Bohai Kingdom, and ideological-political education. These efforts have nurtured a group of young core talents and volunteer teams proficient in geology, culture, science communication, and public speaking. The recent competition has further optimized the talent pipeline for research interpretation, strengthened the volunteer force for the scenic area, and contributed to building a high-quality youth research and practice camp, continuously enhancing Jingpo Lake's reputation as a premier destination for science-based cultural tourism.

After the competition, Comrade Li Dongjun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Jingpo Lake Management Committee, extended warm congratulations to the contestants who successfully advanced to the semifinals and encouraged those who actively participated but did not qualify.
He pointed out that the efforts and courage of every participant are commendable, as the experiences gained on the stage will become invaluable assets. He encouraged everyone to continue striving for excellence and achieving greater success in their future work.
He emphasized that the contestants' composed expression on stage, accurate interpretation of exhibits, and vivid storytelling fully showcased the vitality and charm of young cadres, demonstrating their growth and progress within the management committee.
He noted that Jingpo Lake is a UNESCO Global Geopark, a national scenic area, and a 5A-level tourist attraction. To address the limited appeal of traditional activities such as viewing waterfalls, boat rides, and eating lake fish, the Jingpo Lake Management Committee has developed and constructed the Stone Waterfall Park in recent years. They have also renovated and established nine exhibition halls, including the Jingpo Lake Mudanjiang River Basin Ancient Musical Instruments Exhibition Hall, the Historical and Cultural Exhibition Hall, and the Red Memory Exhibition Hall. The primary goal is to enhance the cultural depth of Jingpo Lake, diversify tourism offerings, and attract more visitors. The purpose of hosting this exhibition hall commentary competition is to better promote Jingpo Lake, help tourists understand its significance, and elevate its reputation both nationally and internationally.
He pointed out that participating in this activity not only enhanced everyone's public speaking skills but also allowed the contestants to showcase their talents to all the cadres. The ability to explain is essentially the ability to express oneself verbally. Language serves as a bridge connecting hearts and a tool for shaping artistic images. Speaking clearly and explaining effectively is not just a communication skill but also holds profound significance in advancing technological progress and cultural heritage. Working at Jingpo Lake, everyone has the responsibility and obligation to tell the story of Jingpo Lake well.
He noted that over the past year, all staff members have devoted themselves to serving and guarding the exhibition hall, using their hard work to protect the "cultural window" of Jingpo Lake. Although the competition has concluded, everyone's learning journey is far from over, and promoting Jingpo Lake has no endpoint. He hopes that everyone will carry the insights and gains from this event into their future roles, shining even brighter in their respective positions.
Finally, he put forward three hopes and requirements for all cadres: First, every cadre at Jingpo Lake should strive to be an excellent guide. To be a good guide, one must have a solid knowledge base, grasp fundamental information about the scenic area—including its history, geography, culture, and ecology—and uncover the legends and stories behind it to enhance the appeal of the narration. Tailor the content and delivery style for different audiences to boost engagement and relatability, including the ability to adapt flexibly to unexpected situations and questions from visitors. At the same time, pay close attention to visitor feedback. Second, every cadre at Jingpo Lake should serve as a skilled promoter. The goal of promotion is to attract more visitors, making it crucial to craft compelling promotional content that highlights the scenic area’s unique features. On one hand, professional training should be conducted effectively; on the other hand, staff should deepen their understanding of the cultural resources of the scenic area. Leverage new media platforms such as live broadcasts, short videos, WeChat, Douyin, and Kuaishou, ensuring everyone plays their part. Additionally, enhance interactivity by aligning with holidays and major events at the scenic area. Third, every cadre at Jingpo Lake should act as a dedicated researcher. Researchers serve as the think tank of the scenic area. Everyone should study the area’s resources, history, and culture, transforming their findings into material for narration and exhibition content. There is a sequence in learning, and mastery comes with specialization—each person has their own insights. When pooled together, they form the collective wisdom, and the power of the collective is boundless. Therefore, everyone must strive to be a good researcher.
