





August6—8On the day, JingpohuLake Global Geopark will face its third revalidation assessment. The UNESCO Global Geopark Network conducts this quadrennial evaluation for existing member geoparks. According to arrangements by the UNESCO Global Geopark Secretariat, assessment expertsAlessandra Casini(Alessandra Casini),Goran Radonic(Glen Rixonic) arrived at the JingpohuLake UNESCO Global Geopark to conduct a three-day re-evaluation inspection. The two evaluation experts will listen to reports on the re-evaluation of JingpohuLake Global Geopark, inspect its three core scenic areas—JingpohuLake, volcanic craters, and the Bohai Kingdom—review materials, and provide feedback. Leaders from national and provincial geopark authorities, the Mudanjiang municipal government, and the JingpohuLake Global Geopark management committee, along with the geopark’s geological expert team and partners such as JingpohuLake Tourism Group and Heilongjiang Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology Survey Institute, will accompany the inspection.
Since2006the year when JingpohuLake Global Geopark was approved by UNESCO to join the Global Geoparks Network, it has undergone two evaluations by UNESCO in2010and2014. Over the past twelve years, under the guidance and support of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network Executive Bureau and the China Global Geoparks Network Office, JingpohuLake Global Geopark has further intensified its efforts in park protection, development, and construction. With the principles of strict protection, scientific research and popularization, tourism development, and benefiting local communities, it has focused on integrating resources, improving functions, enriching content, and enhancing quality. At the same time, in response to the feedback from UNESCO re-evaluation experts, the park has formulated measures one by one and carried out rectifications item by item, striving to establish JingpohuLake Global Geopark as a distinctive geological park and a representative tourism brand in Heilongjiang Province, making positive contributions to the effective protection of resources and the better and faster development of the regional economy and society.
