Ningde Global Geopark

Located in Ningde City, Fujian Province, China, the Ningde Global Geopark consists of three areas: Baishuiyang, Baiyun Mountain, and Taimu Mountain, covering a total area of 2,660 square kilometers with a core area of 383 square kilometers. The geopark is situated in the southeastern part of the Eurasian Plate, within the Pacific continental margin activation zone. The park lies within the Mesozoic volcanic belt along China's southeastern coast, which is a significant component of the Circum-Pacific volcanic rock belt. It is also part of a 1,000-kilometer-long alkaline-rich miarolitic granite belt stretching from the coastal regions of Zhejiang, Fujian, and Guangdong provinces to South Korea, featuring typical exposures of miarolitic granite with substantial scientific research and investigative value. The geopark integrates various landforms, including miarolitic granite, volcanic rocks, riverbed erosion, and coastal marine erosion, offering highly scenic geological landscapes. The diverse combination of landforms reflects the complexity of its geological history. The park boasts rich and varied geological relics, encompassing geomorphological, stratigraphic, lithological, structural, and hydrogeological features, making it a natural geological museum.
