Ziling Lake is located in Ning'an City, Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province, about 5 kilometers upstream of the main scenic spot of jingpo Lake, between the two core attractions of Diaoshuilou Waterfall and the Crater Underground Forest. It was formed in a volcanic eruption about 10,000 years ago. The magma cooled to form a basalt platform, and water accumulated in the low-lying areas to form a lake. It has a unique hard slate formation and is surrounded by Cuiping Mountain. The lake area reaches 530,000 square meters. It is one of the largest volcanic rock wetland lakes in China that is well preserved. In spring, the clear lake water flows over the basalt platform. On the lake surface, purple water chestnuts float, reeds sway, water lilies and lotus flowers bloom one after another. Wherever the wind passes, the blue waves carry the gentle fragrance of flowers. Egrets flutter in the forest, mandarin ducks play, fish swim underwater, and vegetation, birds and animals coexist, creating an original landscape painting with the elegance of the "Little Amazon of the North."
